EUROPE MONTH
Europe Month is a celebration to honor Europe Day on 9th of May. On this day, every year, we celebrate peace and unity in Europe. This day also marks the launching of Europe Month in Saudi Arabia, a celebration of Europe and our cooperation with the Kingdom. This year, Europe month will run from 9 May to 9 June.
During a series of events taking place throughout this month, you will be able to enjoy European culture as well as learn more about the European Union, and the opportunities it provides in many areas like education and business. These events are organised by the EU delegation and EU Member States' Embassies in Riyadh.
Europe Month is about sharing cultural experiences and encouraging further exchanges between Europe and the Kingdom. The aim is to improve mutual understanding and strengthen further our bilateral ties.
THE DELEGATION
About Europe Month 2022
The Delegation of the European Union to Saudi Arabia and the Gulf is a fully accredited diplomatic mission and is one of over 140 EU Delegations around the world.
The Delegation has a diverse staff comprising several European and Arab nationalities. The responsibilities of the Delegation (what we do) covers a wide variety of areas including political relations, security, trade and external assistance.
The Delegation of the European Union to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Bahrain opened in Riyadh in 2004. The EU Delegation is also representing the EU vis-à-vis the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB).
The EU Delegation works on many areas of cooperation with Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain and the GCC such as political dialogues, economic and trade issues, regional security, education as well as climate change and transition to green energy/economy.
